What really matters to me

So I'm listening to Sam Harris's meditation lectures, and the first thing is to look at what really matters to me. What really matters to me are people, pets, my body and mind, things, places, and a bunch of other stuff.

Money, image, income, credit, talents, health, freedom, security, safety, and purpose, too. Investments, assets, computers, information, communication, education, intelligence, knowledge.

Stuff: documents, such as passports and credit cards. Birth certificates, legal stuff, drivers license and social security card.

Computers, phones, cars, musical instruments, books, furniture, clothes, weapons, tools, tapes and cameras, CDs, music, art. Home, heating and plumbing systems, electrical system, wifi, internet connections and devices. Tech, software. Batteries; ammunition: real and metaphorically. Kitchen tools, knives, sharpeners, cups, plates, saucepans.

Food and water. How healthy the food and water is. A supply, and a reserve, and a backup. Reserves of the things I need, when I need them.

How organized and prepared I am. How clear headed I am. The structure of my life. The foundations of my home, my body, my life, my work, my ability to function and thrive.

The reliability of the things and people in my life. That my cars will start, that my computers and phones will fire up, that my credit cards will work and that my bank balances are good. That I have access to what I need.
